👋 Hey there!

My name is Dallas Read. I’m looking to join a company that is making an outsized impact on the world.

My scrappy, self-taught, and bootstrapped background has taught me how to deliver quality software quickly. I have a 15-year track record of doing just that – cutting scope, negotiating project hand-offs, communicating clearly, and producing time-bomb-free project documents.

I’m at my best when I’m building:

alone or alongside one or two coworkers.
when the project’s boundaries are clear.
and trusted to use the scope hammer.
something that makes a meaningful difference in the world.

For the last 6 years, I’ve worked at DNSimple (Rails/VueJS) to release of dozens of new features including Google/Okta SSO, record notes, scoped API tokens, the Domain Control Plane, and revamped the navigation bar. I led a small team to adopt Shape Up successfully and championed the philosophy to the rest of the company. Today, it is used company-wide. Along with development, I write blog posts, create support videos, keep documentation up-to-date, and work with customers to fix their DNS.
